On a fine fresh Saturday afternoon on the 10th of November, CR Hyde and Johanna Nelson were married on the grounds of a historic mansion set on a hilltop overlooking the Tucson valley. Onlookers basked in the beauty of the surroundings, as the Sonoran sun cast a brilliant glow across the wedding party. It was a day befitting of the moment.
For over twenty years the Parkers and Hydes assemble in the sleepy town of Carefree Arizona to celebrate thanksgiving. This all American tradition is one of the family favorites.
In 2010 the entire Parker family convened on the slopes of Colorado for the first time in decades, convening on the slopes of Winter Park to watch Charlie and Aidan compete in a national ski race, then onward to Summit County to rip some righteous turns on familiar slopes, with a special guest appearance by the Wierengos. We left vowing to do it again next year!
The following images are some highlights of time spent back home with the Parkers. There’s a fine assortment of images here, from time spent in Grand Haven, Charlevoix, Thanksgiving in Arizona, and back home again for Christmas. Looking back I have to say it was one classic year!
The following images are highlights from the time I spent with my family during the year 2004.
Scenes from the Parker Family Thanksgiving, an annual excursion set among the semi-wild Sonoran desert lands outside of the Phoenix. Each year we travel afar to convene in Carefree Arizona for a traditional celebration of food and family. The simplicity and purity of the event makes it an annual favorite.
Scenes from a memorable spring break in Colorado, where I responded to the call for some skiing, flying across the ocean and traversing a Continent to make some turns with the next generation of Parkers! How great to see the tradition continues!
Images from a visit back home, when I was able to witness a very special moment in any family. My nephew Aidan’s first (training-wheels free) bike ride. Certainly one for the memory books!
Images from my journey back home to Grand Haven during the Summer of 2009. Such a fabulous time of year to be back home, to experience and appreciate Grand Haven in its finest form.
