What
to say about the Galway Arts Festival? It is
a two week cacophony of arts. Music, Dance,
Theatre, Visual Arts, and Street Performances.
For nearly three decades this celebration has
occurred each July in the City of Tribes. While
I've traveled through while it was occurring
two times previously, this was my first time
to truly experience the event. From beginning
to end, from the middle of the day to very late
at night, I experienced a spectacular blend
of art forms from across the globe. It was a
world class production, rivaling Edinburgh not
perhaps in breadth but certainly in quality.
It was a privilege to photograph the event
on behalf of Galway.Net and Emigrant Publications.
By the end, I was certainly well cultured, not
to mention thoroughly exhausted. If it wasn't
the running between the venues that wore me
out, perhaps it was the nightly visits to the
festival club. |
